Entrepreneurs unite

Wonderbag founder joins international campaign for entrepreneurs.

North Coast local and founder of the heat retention cooker, the Wonderbag , Sarah Collins, partnered up with tech giant Dell for the #EntrepreneursUNite campagin and will be the ‘face of African entrepreneurs’ for this powerful initiative.

The announcement comes after Collins hosted a WonderWomen lunch in Ballito, Johannesburg and Cape Town in celebration of South Africa’s Women’s Month and to promote ‘Wonderpreneurs’.

The #EntrepreneursUNite campaign was the brainchild of Dell’s CEO and founder Michael Dell who also acts as the United Nation’s Global Advocate for Entrepreneurship.

The idea behind the campaign is to create greater global awareness around one of the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals, known as Goal 8, that aims to empower entrepreneurs around the world, helping them foster innovation, job creation and sustainable economic growth by increasing access to capital, markets, talent and technology.

“I was so excited when the Dell team got in touch and asked me to join them in raising awareness around Goal 8! Providing people with the tools to empower themselves and create change in their own families and communities is something I have always been passionate about,” said Collins.

The campaign aims to collect the required 100 000 signatures in a petition highlighting the importance of this goal that will be presented at the next UN general assembly in September 2015.

“Each and every one of us can make a difference and our voices need to be heard at important events like the UN’s general assembly,” said Collins, who urges everyone to sign the petition before the end of August.
