Working with wallpaper
Home Improvement: Transform a room in your home by adding pops of pattern.
Seasons are changing and that means you are also most probably itching to change something in your home.
Without going too drastic and spending thousands, there are fabulous, cost-effective ways of adding a chic touch like creating a feature wall with wallpaper.
Wallpaper might seem like a really boring addition, but with the patterns and colours that you get today, wallpaper is making a big comeback. Also, the way wallpaper is being used by designers today is what makes it so interesting.
Do not use wallpaper for all the walls in one room, or even the whole of one wall if you do not want to. Rather create a focal point in the room with some bold wallpaper, depending on the style and trend you want in your home of course.
Cover the wall in your bedroom where your bed is, to create the look and feel of a headboard. Add some pops of pattern on your shelves or along the edges in the kitchen.
Wallpaper is quite simple to apply, but it is very important that you prepare the surface you are applying it to properly before you start.
* Make sure the area is super clean.
* The next step is to mark exactly where you want to put the wallpaper.
* Use a ruler to make sure that you have straight lines in the right place.
* When the surface is ready, apply carefully and properly.
It is important to compliment the colours and patterns of your wallpaper throughout the rest of the room. Pick these up with accents in your furniture, curtains or carpets. This will help to complete the look and feel of the room.
