Capturing life on the North Coast
Photo-initiative started to show what an ordinary day on the North Coast is like.
It is no secret that the North Coast boasts with some spectacular scenery.
From our beautiful beaches to the lush greenery, there is a picturesque moment around the corner.
Everyone loves to show off their part of the world with a fabulous photo and that is why Ballito resident Donel Rootman van Zyl decided to launch A Day in the Life of the North Coast.
“I based the idea of A Day in the Life of the North Coast on the old photo book, ‘A Day in the Life of South Africa’, where people submitted photos of the country to be published in this one of a kind book,” said Van Zyl.
“The photos will not be published, but everyone will just post their photos on the A Day in the Life of the North Coast Facebook group.”
The idea is that North Coast residents take photos of anything they do on Wednesday, September 16 from midnight to midnight.
Van Zyl said anyone can take part in the initiative without much effort.
“You don’t need a fancy camera or photography skills, you can just take photos with your phone and post it on the group.”
A North Coast resident for the past 28 years, Van Zyl said it is incredible to see how the area has expanded from the tiny village at the sea to the bustling town that keeps on growing.
“The photos can be about absolutely anything, as long as it is representative of an ordinary day on the North Coast,” she said.
Join the group on Facebook and remember to get out your phone and capture your Wednesday on the North Coast of KZN.
