Robbery suspects caught near Ballito
Thanks to Umhlali Police, four suspected robbers were caught last week.
Umhlali police came to the rescue last Friday, when they arrested four, armed business robbery suspects near Ballito.
The suspects reportedly robbed a business in Richards Bay around 11.30am that day, taking an undisclosed amount of cash, four cell phones, jewellery and one hand bag.
They then took off in the business owner’s vehicle, which they later abandoned and jumped into a VW Polo.
Umhlali Police waited at the Umvoti Tall Plaza for the vehicle, chased them at high speed and finally cornered them near Ballito and arrested the passengers.
According to SAPS media liaison, Major Thulani Zwane, the suspects were charged for possession of property suspected to be stolen.
He said they will be transferred to Richards Bay Police Station where they will be charged for business robbery.
Furthermore, preliminary investigation showed that the four were already sought by Umhlali police for a case of housebreaking.
