We’ve all heard it before. Eight glasses of water is the amount we need to drink each day.
While some people will stick to that ‘rule’, others not so much.
Every person is different, and Dr Robert Huggins from the University of Conneticut explained to Time Health that you should listen to your body and only drink when you are thirsty.
Huggins said fluid needs are dynamic and differ according to each individual.
Factors such as gender, your environment, the intensity of your work or exercise, age and even diet need to be considered.
Another way to keep track of your hydration is by checking the colour of your pee.
If it is darker than the colour of lemonade, you should grab a glass of H2O.
