Beautiful third year medical student Khanyisile Zondo (20) from Tongaat, was crowned Miss Ballito 2015 at a glitzy black tie crowning evening held at Collisheen Estate last Friday night.
Thrilled with her new title, Zondo accepted the crown from the gracious Miss Ballito 2014, Kirsten Martins who looked dazzling, wearing the crown one last time.
“I feel like everything has come full circle and I am very happy,” said Martins, speaking about her reign coming to an end.
The Miss Ballito beauty pageant, presented by the Rotary Club of Zimbali is an annual charity event that this year raised funds for the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund and Summerhill House.
“This year’s crowning evening was once again a successful first class event and worth every effort,” said Paul Rose from the Rotary Club of Zimbali.
Fine dining and delightful song and dance entertainment complimented the seven finalists as each put her best foot forward to impress the judges during the different rounds of the evening.
First, the finalists were introduced with their sponsors before hitting the stage for ever popular bikini contest which saw the girls wearing elegant beachwear robes over their bikinis. The final, and most nail biting round was the evening wear and question time with the girls wearing lovely Bride & Co dresses.
The multi-tasking Savannah Donaldson (23) from Ballito, a personal trainer, online coach and au pair, is the first princess and second year marketing student, Sanelisiwe Mngoma (23) from Stanger is the second princess.
Miss Congeniality is none other than the lovely Bongiwe Dlamini (23), a volunteer at the Enduzweni community centre in Groutville who lives in Stanger.
Organiser, Rotarian Heidi Smith, thanked the community and everybody involved without whom the event would not have been possible.
