Quadruplets helped by mother of triplets

When four babies arrive instead of one...

The 34-year-old mother of quadruplets, Thobile Ngiba from Emansomini area, Maphumulo was given the green light to go home with her babies on October 16.

Ngiba delivered her little angels on July 16 at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital and at three months they were now strong enough to go home.

While at Stanger hospital, the mother had, through the Courier, appealed for help to cope with the unexpected arrival of four babies instead of one. She needed food, nappies, clothes and any other form of help with the infants.

Vicki Millican from Kearsney, herself the mother of triplets, took the initiative to source help for Ngiba and she was amazed at the generous response.

“I started a WhatsApp group with friends, family members, residents and parents of the grade two pupils of Umhlali Prep School,” said Millican.

She praised the community for their support and donations for Ngiba. She said Akhona, Aphelele, Anele and Aphiwe got what they needed. The healthy little angels are now at their home with their shy but happy mother.

She also praised KwaDukuza hospital and Maphumulo hospital nurses and social workers for the fine treatment Ngiba and her babies had received.

“I was also impressed with Ngiba’s home in Maphumulo. They are staying in a very clean, nice house.” said Millican.

When she went to Stanger Hospital she found more people had also donated clothes for the babies, so she expressed her thanks to them as well.
