Umdloti’s strange visitor from the ocean

A black and orange giant slug-like stranger appeared on Umdloti’s South Beach this week, which left residents puzzled as to what it could be.

Is it dangerous? Is it alive? Is it a whale condom?

These are the questions residents asked themselves, while looking at the roughly six meter long, heavy pipe, which washed onto the beach on Tuesday.

So far, no one has claimed the stray pipe with the number 02 00 032 B welded onto it.

What we do know is that it is not alive, unlikely to be dangerous, unless you crawl into it, and definitely not a whale condom.
