The excitement was palpable as chocoholics gathered outside the brand new Lindt Chocolate Boutique in the Gateway Theatre of Shopping yesterday evening, waiting for the store to open to the public at 7pm.

Chocolate lovers were salivating with anticipation, watching through the glass shop windows, as the press and VIP guests sampled Lindor truffles in a wide variety of flavours.

According to the global leader in premium chocolate the new chocolate boutique is the largest of its kind in South Africa.

This is their second chocolate boutique in the country, following Sandton City earlier this year.

There was much excitement following a Facebook competition which allowed the winners 30 seconds to fill their packets at the Lindor Pick & Mix station with as many Lindor truffles as they could lay their hands on.

“The new Lindt Chocolate Boutique is sure to be Durban’s ultimate chocolate destination,” said Nicolas Thoenen, CEO of Lindt & Sprüngli South Africa.

“Not only will it be our largest South African retail store to date, but it will also offer Durban consumers full access to the authentic Lindt experience, allowing them to truly immerse themselves in the brand and gain a greater appreciation for the art of chocolate making.”

Durban consumers are also in for an added treat this festive season, with Lindt offering one lucky customer to the new Chocolate Boutique the chance to win a trip for two to Switzerland.

Anyone who spends R100 or more in the new store between 10 and 31 December will be entered into the lucky draw, and stand in line to win this incredible prize.

The winner will be chosen on Friday 8 January and will be announced on the Lindt South Africa Facebook page as well as in store.
