Three people critical after train hits two cars
A father and his two children are in a critical condition after their car was hit by a train near Etete.
Three people were critically injured when their car was hit by a train on the R102 railway crossing in Etete on Wednesday morning.
IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst said the driver of a Volkswagen Jetta tried to cross the railway when they were hit by the train carrying logs.
“The train hit the side of the car, causing it to roll multiple times and leaving the vehicle completely wrecked,” said Herbst.
“The driver and his two children were thrown out of the car and all three are in a critical condition.”
A second vehicle was also hit by the train, but the driver managed to escape uninjured.
