Place your bets at the races

Put on your hat, grab a bag of money and get ready for a race night to remember at Mozambik’s Puppy SOS KZN fund-raiser next Tuesday.

This is how it works – nine pre-recorded races will be shown on the big screen, you choose your winning horse and place a bet. If your horse crosses the finishing line first, you win and take home a share of the prize fund.

Business owners are encouraged to sponsor a race for R500 and in return they will be given publicity on the Puppy SOS Facebook page and will have their names printed on all the race cards on the night.

Alternatively, you can also advertise on a race card for R250, which will be issued to all attendees.

David Hanson from Puppy SOS KZN said the takings from the races will be split 50/50 between the prize fund and the fund raising.

“The raised money will be used to help with ongoing vet costs and kennel fees,” said Hanson, who has re-homed over 250 puppies since the beginning of Puppy SOS in August 2014.

“We are extremely grateful for the continued support from the community, which allows us to help more puppies.”
