Let’s rally and run in cool rasta style
Calling all rasta-men and their empresses to the adventure rally on Sunday.
It’s going to be a funky reggae rally and don’t forget the dreads!
Dressed up teams and decorated cars will be racing around town for the annual Ballito Lions Club adventure rally this Sunday.
Inspired by the Jamaican classic movie, Cool Runnings, the theme for this year’s rally is all about the rasta vibe.
Lions Club member and co-organiser, Jonno Crichton said teams can look forward to exciting activities at each of the eight checkpoints.
“Registration starts at 8am at Townsend Park on Sunday morning and costs R100 per car, R50 per adult and R30 per child. Prizes will be up for grabs including the highly anticipated best decorated car and best dressed individual,” said Crichton.
The race will start at 9.30am and the route and various activities should take about two and a half hours to complete.
Crichton said each team will be given an instruction booklet with clues and the route.
The money raised will go towards the various community projects run by the club throughout the year.
