Food For Life feeds the 4500

The hunger pangs of 4500 people were satiated when Food For Life Tongaat (FFLT) distributed plates of food in 16 areas in and around Tongaat.

It held its official launch and first “big feed” at the Chinna Thirupathi Vishnu Dharmshala (CTVD) Temple on Saturday, 13 February where 18 pots of food were cooked and portions handed out with the help of Miss India South Africa and the Tongaat SAPS.

The FFLT organisers  were grateful to the management of CTVD and the Tongaat SAPS for partnering with them and thanked all   sponsors.
The organisation has a vision of a hunger-free Tongaat and its plan for 2016 includes preparing 1000 plates of food a month, arranging four big feeds a year and feeding pupils in all the Tongaat schools.

Food For Life is a non-sectarian and non-discriminating organisation that respects all religions and cultural traditions and has volunteers from all religious and racial backgrounds involved in feeding programmes all over the world.

FFLT is part of Food For Life South Africa (FFLSA) which is affiliated to Food For Life Global.

Sponsors can donate cash, the ingredients for a pot of breyani or cook the pot of food sponsored and help with the distribution of food.
