Shots fired in a Stanger street

Police confirmed a taxi-related shooting in Stanger was the result of an argument.

No one was injured in a taxi-related shooting in Hulett Street, Stanger at noon today.

Ilembe cluster commander, Brigadier Bheki Zondi said the incident was the result of an argument between a taxi owner and his taxi driver. The taxi owner allegedly shot at the driver.

“The taxi driver is not laying charges and does not want to open a case, however police are busy with this matter,” Zondi said.

“Even if a case is not opened, it is an offence to discharge a firearm in a public place and to point a firearm at someone.”

“There is no taxi violence in KwaDukuza.”
