Weekend crime report

One house break-in reported last weekend.

Umhlali SAPS attended the following crimes this weekend:

* A house was broken into in Shayamoya on Friday. Electric appliances, cell phones and clothes were stolen.

* A man was shot at while driving on the N2, North bound, between Tinley Manor and Salt Rock on Friday afternoon.

* A four-year-old child was raped in Shaka’s Head on Saturday.

* A man was stabbed in the shoulder in Nkobongo on Saturday.

* A Nkobongo resident found out that 30 bricks in his yard had been stolen on Saturday.

* Two men were arrested for armed robbery in Sheffield on Saturday after a man walking on Kyla Road was held up at gunpoint, and his money taken.

Umhlali SAPS warn residents and holidaymakers not to leave valuable items in their cars when they are going to the beach.

They also urge residents to report crimes against women and children and human trafficking.

Police ask residents who applied for competency certificates and firearm licence to go to the firearm office at the station for collection from Monday to Wednesday before 10am. Police Contact Umhlali SAPS on 032-9479900.
