Three men robbed the Tongaat MTN store

The robbers intimidated staff with an axe and a knife.

Three young men armed with a knife and an axe, clad in black trousers and T-shirts, broke into the MTN shop in Tongaat this morning stealing iphones and cash.
Tongaat SAPS spokesman, warrant officer Marisha Maharaj-Marie said the three men tied and gagged the three staff members in the storeroom at the back while they helped themselves to a large quantity of iphones and emptied the till of cash.
“The staff members were taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment for trauma and shock,” said Marisha-Marie.
IPPS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst added that the robbers fled before the police arrived.
