Orphan Fund enjoys community support

Every donation to the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund makes a lasting and significant impact on the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children locally.

This last week has seen two local entities join us in the ongoing battle to restore dignity and hope where it is needed most.

Ballito based R & C Instrumentation once again made a generous donation of R40,000.

The company has been a faithful supporter of the Fund for many years, having committed to contributing towards the plight of orphans.

“We cannot stand by and do nothing,” said R&C Instrumentation owner Steve Edwards.

Simbithi Country Club also donated R5 600 to the Fund, the profits from their fund-raiser with Marlette ‘Molly’ Hegyi.

Hegyi is a South African mountaineer who has climbed four of the seven highest peaks on each of the planet’s seven continents and she shared her story of struggle, pain, determination and success at the estate club house on February 18.

North Coast Courier general manager Pieter Naudé said he was grateful that locals took it upon themselves to raise money for the Orphan Fund, as the need was always greater than the resources available.

“The donations that businesses and individuals make to the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund enable us to positively impact the lives of orphans throughout KwaDukuza municipality,” said Naudé.
