Ultra City fire is out

No one was injured in the blaze.

The raging fire at the Shell Ultra City Umvoti Toll on the N2, believed to have started at the back of Steers kitchen, has been extinguished.

IPSS Medical Response’s Paul Herbst said there were no injuries.

He said there was structural damage at the back of the building and the tankers and truck had burnt.

The peaceful Easter Sunday morning in Groutville was rudely broken when gas cannister at Steers exploded at about 10.30am this morning.

The fire is thought to have originated in the Steers kitchen.

One house was razed to the ground.
