More than charm and personality

She not only has an Honours degree in nursing, but boasts a 1st Dan black belt, attained South African colours and fought and represented South Africa in the 2003 SKISA Karate World Cup.

The Schwartzkopt Professional Mrs South Africa and its “Women Empowerment Programme” is certainly attracting entrants with substance.

Take Levinia Lea Arran (33) from Ballito, a member of the top 100 semi-finalists, for example.

She not only has an Honours degree in nursing from UKZN, but boasts a 1st Dan black belt, attained South African colours and fought and represented South Africa in the 2003 SKISA Karate World Cup.

Impressive achievements and katas aside, Levinia is a beautiful, feminine woman whose personality simply sparkles.

She breezed into the Courier office for an interview exuding both charm and verve.

He words bubbled out with the zest of champagne being poured into a glass.

“I have always wanted to be a part of Miss/Mrs South Africa. This has been a childhood dream of mine that I shared with my dad, who I sadly lost to cancer just over a year ago,” she said.

“So I’m doing this in honour of my dad, who was everything to me.

“Mrs South Africa is involved in raising funds for Cansa and being able to contribute means a lot to me. The Mrs South Africa platform will allow me to achieve so more than I can alone.”

Levinia said her other passion is the youth and all the challenges they face in this permissive age. She wants to be a role model and touch everyone she meets in some positive way.

“I also want to empower women out there and make a difference in their lives. I want to uplift, encourage and inspire everyone I meet during this journey.”

Her compassion for people is integrated in her calling to be a nurse. She nursed for nine years in the United Kingdom.

“I worked in the most prestigious men’s health clinic in the world, based in London, for six years.”

In between she has done many modelling shoots and has a love for fashion.

Her hobbies are going to gym, dancing, boxing, taking photos and posing in them, traveling and spending time with her supportive family: her husband Nicky Naidoo, mother and two younger brothers.

The 100 semi-finalists will be reduced to 25 at the CANSA gala dinner on April 29. She is looking for sponsors. Call her at 076 269 1768.
