Heaven “robbed” of three angels
"Their diverse personalities keep us entertained and have brought a renewed energy to the house," said Donovan Muirhead.
The three ginger kittens that were on their way to heaven have found a home and are blossoming in their new fur-ever home.
After nearly five months at the Ballito Veterinary Hospital and an extended play date at Wendy Robert’s cat rescue centre, the boys had been unable to find homes (‘How much is that kitty in the window? Meow…meow..’ Courier, March 25).
Bengal, Diesel and Titan (renamed by their new human parents to match their individual characters) have crept deep into the hearts of Courier journalist Jacqueline Herbst and her fiancee, Donovan Muirhead.
“Although we already had two adult cats, we adopted the kittens because they deserve a chance at life. Their diverse personalities keep us entertained and have brought renewed energy to the house,” said Muirhead.
He said they behaved like a pride of lion cubs, playing, cuddling and sticking together.
Diesel (named after his constant purring like a diesel engine) is incredibly busy and loves climbing on you, licking your face and kissing on the lips.
Bengal (with the prominent tiger stripes) is the comfort creature and always sits with Herbst on top of the office chair backrest when she works on the computer.
Titan is as soft as cotton wool, but do not be fooled, he is the bravest of the lot. Always the first to try new things, he was completely unperturbed by the big cats’ hissing and spitting in the beginning when they were still getting used to the “intruders”.
