Community unrest at Etete and Driefontein

The R102 is open said police.

Police have monitored two protest strikes within last 24 hours..

There is a service delivery protest at Driefontein this morning.

Umhlali SAPS spokesman, Vinny Pillay said about 150 people gathered at the taxi rank in Driefontein at about 4am.

“No buses or taxis are leaving or entering Driefontein,” Pillay said.

Last night there was  a service delivery strike at Etete, on the R102.

Despite reports on social media and Whatsapp groups, the R102 is open and there is no service delivery strike in Etete this morning, according to Pillay.
