Music at the lake on Mother’s Day

Spoil your mom this Mother’s Day, while enjoying two of our region’s priceless resources, the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra and Durban’s magnificent Botanic Gardens.
Set to entertain families and friends as they celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday May 8, Old Mutual Music at the Lake proudly presents the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra featuring celebrity muso Arno Carstens and special guest Chloe Clark, with a bouquet of live music-making in the magical setting of Durban’s Botanic Gardens.
Arno Carstens of Springbok Nude Girls fame, and Chloe Clark featured until recently in Team Khan on The Voice SA.
Highlights include Arno’s biggest block busters: Emergency; Another Universe; Blue Eyes and Hole Heart, with Chloe adding a feminine touch with L-O-V-E; Doo Bee Doo, and other hits.
The KZN Philharmonic under the baton of Maestro Lykele Temmingh will accompany Arno and Chloe, and will also play some highlights of its forthcoming season, including Shostakovich’s spectacular Festive Overture and a short movement from Beethoven’s 8th Symphony.
Tickets: adults: presold R140 and on-the-day R160 Children 8 – 12 years R60 and under eight free.
Tickets are available online at www.webtickets.co.za, or at the information office at the Gardens.
Gates open at 1pm for presold ticket holders, and at 1.30pm for on-the-day sales. The concert starts at 2pm. Children are welcome to enjoy some fun and games at Kidzone. A variety of food and soft refreshments will be available to purchase. Picnic blankets, camp chairs and cooler boxes are allowed.
Kindly note that following are not allowed: beach umbrellas, gazebos, pets, balls, bikes, scooters, weapons, hubbly bubblies or illegal substances.
