A Tongaat woman is robbed of R10 000 at home

Robbers are entering homes in broad daylight.

The owner of a house in Fairbreeze Drive, Tongaat and her domestic were going about their day on Friday, May 13, when two unknown men entered the home brandishing firearms.

“The men found the domestic in the kitchen and, holding her at gunpoint, forced her to  join the owner in the bedroom,” said Tongaat SAPS spokesman, warrant officer Manisha Mari.

“The robbers demanded cash and took R10 000 from the owner and her Blackberry phone and fled.”

Manisha Mari warns residents that more crimes are taking place in the day because criminals think less people are at home.

“People must keep all their gates, security gates and even doors locked in the day. The criminals watch the houses too, so residents must be observant.

“It is also it not advisable to keep large amounts of cash at home.”
