Painting the town red!

We are running short of words to express our happiness and appreciation for what has happened. "We knew they were coming but what they have done for us is just unbelievable. Thank you" - said Cyril Zwane.

RED Day is about seeing a need, discovering who can meet that need and then getting it done.

This is exactly what KW Realty Ignite did last Thursday when they exploded generosity into the lives of the children and senior citizens living at The Safe Haven for Children and Elders, the home of Rose and Cyril Zwane in Lindelani last Thursday, May 12.

A huge team of from KW Realty Ignite transformed the threadbare home by painting the walls, tiling the lounge, kitchen and bathroom, installing kitchen cupboards and granite work surfaces, a bathroom basin, repairing the leaking roof and installing a new 400 litre geyser. Outside they installed fencing, painted, put up two new windy dryers and two fabulous jungle gyms. Much needed windows were fitted to the porta cabin that houses the destitute elderly residents.

The vegetable garden was rearranged, with Cyril receiving valuable lessons from Darryl De Lange of Pure Soil on how to manufacture his own compost and care for the vegetables.

Most of this was a surprise for the children who were whisked away to Flag Animal Farm for the day while the construction took place. When they returned they had the special privilege of leaving their hands in the wet cement of the freshly constructed outdoor movie theatre!

The family were also treated to a photo shoot for photographs to be framed for the home and a kiddies party. Over and above all that the wonder workers also donated food, books, toys and clothes.

“We are running short of words to express our happiness and appreciation for what has happened. “We knew they were coming but what they have done for us is just unbelievable. Thank you,” said Cyril.

Rose said they care for about 20 children during school term, and the numbers increase during the holidays.

KW Realty Ignite, market centre administrator Beverley Gaul said after the RED Day Committee’s first visit to the home, the Zwane’s compassion and love for people in need was clear and they knew they had found the right place.

“We set out with determination to achieve a mammoth task and with the support of our agents, business associates and particularly Bruce Dickson of Brudick Construction Group and Warren Howard of Coastal Property Renovators, we were able to accomplish everything we set out to do” said Gaul.
