Car theft gets their goat
This is the second peculiar goat theft incident in the past week.
A stolen Toyota Tazz carrying eleven goats was recovered on Friday night after being stolen in Newark earlier that evening.
Newark police recovered the Tazz at Thrings Post on the R74 according to IPSS Medical Rescue‘s Dylan Meyrick.
Newark SAPS spokesman, Malusi Ngubane said police gave chase, together with KwaDukuza police, after a call from a resident in Dorinkop reported that thieves were stealing goats.
“We found the Tazz, heading towards Maphumulo, abandoned on the R74.”
The stolen goats were returned to their owner.
This strange turn of events comes just three days after police officers patrolling Meyerton, Midvaal, made national headlines when they found 14 goats packed into a minibus taxi.
The bizarre discovery, made on May 17 landed five men behind bars.
Images of the stolen goats, which circulated widely on social media, show some of the animals standing backwards in the front seat of the taxi.
