Truck lands across railway line, Tinley Manor

Notorious corner claims another vehicle.

The driver of a truck lost control while travelling on the Tinley Manor Link Road towards the R102, early this morning.

“The driver lost control around a sharp bend going over the bridge and the truck came to rest across both railway lines,” said IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst.

“He suffered moderate injuries and was transported to hospital for further care.”

This particular corner is an accident hotspot, with another accident taking place there over the weekend.

A local farmer (who asked not to be named) said that something needed to urgently be done to prevent future accidents.

“There are accidents here almost weekly,” he said.
