Abused cats rescued in Ballito seek loving homes

Ballito cat lovers are stepping forward to help.

The Feline Feral Fund Ballito are desperately seeking homes for six traumatized cats that were rescued in the town about three weeks ago.

Founder of Feline Feral Cats Fund, Sharon Cossey said, “We suspect that the cats were abused. At first we thought that they were wild but upon monitoring their behavior, we came to realize that the cats are tame and loving.”

Cossey said that the initial plan for the cats was to send them to an enclosed sanctuary for feral cats, but considering that they are tamed, the organisation seeks loving homes for the animals.

“We want the cats to have a chance to experience a good life with loving people. The cats were sterilized and groomed. They are being kept at a temporary location. Should we not find a permanent home, we will have no choice but to send them off to the sanctuary.”

So far two of the six cats have been adopted by a Ballito couple, Francois and Carol-Ann Bezuidenhout.

For information on the cats or to donate to the organisation, contact Sharon Cossey from  Feline Feral Cats fund  at 072 266 9171.
