Weekend crime report
Umhlali SAPS urge residents and holidaymakers not to leave valuable items in their cars when they are going out the beach.
Umhlali SAPS attended the following crimes last weekend:
· Construction workers were held up at gunpoint at Waterfall Combined School in Upper Tongaat on Friday. Seven cellphones were taken by the robbers.
· A core cable was stolen at the Umhlali railway on Friday.
· A car was stolen at 65 Ocean Drive, Chaka’s Rock on Saturday night.
· A man was stabbed in the neck at the Action Bar in Shakaskraal on Saturday night.
· A man was assaulted with a knobkerrie in Etete, Island on Sunday.
· A 17-year-old boy was shot in Driefontein on Sunday night. A man was arrested after he was found with an illegal gun and live rounds.
Umhlali SAPS urge residents and holidaymakers not to leave valuable items in their cars when they are going out the beach.
They also urge residents to report crimes against women and children and human trafficking.
Police offer name and identity clearance for R47, police clearance for R96, copies of collision report for 60c per page, copies of post mortem results for R30 and incident report copies for 40c per page.
Residents are urged to bring the correct amount, only cash will be accepted.
