Linc sisterhood’s rich aroma of generosity
Last year Linc Sisterhood raised about R90 000 through The 500 Project.
Ballito baking enthusiast Antonella Whittaker is known by all her friends as a baker extraordinaire.
Antonella recently raised R4000 for Linc Sisterhood‘s The 500 Project by holding an intimate baking demonstration and lunch at Fine Young Cooks at Burndale in Umhlali.
The women watched with intent interest as Antonella taught them how to make a Rich Almond Fudge Cake and Creme Brûlée.
But it was the opportunity to sample the exquisite dishes that had the women singing her praises.
The desserts were served after a delicious lunch sponsored by Burnedale Cafe’s Brigitte Pousson.
Cath Slevin, representing the Linc Foundation, shared the meaning of The 500 Project.
“The 500 Project originated in 2012 with Hillsong church in Australia. The women of Sisterhood were issued with a challenge to use their unique set of skills to raise R500 or more. This is the second year now that our women have taken on the challenge.”
Last year Linc Sisterhood raised about R90 000 through The 500 Project.
“The monies raised will be sown into Project Dignity, who aim to reduce absenteeism and dropout rates in schools and increase opportunities for girls to complete their education with dignity, as well as the Linc Foundation Crisis Centre, currently operating out of Nkobongo Resource Centre,” said Slevin.
The next Sisterhood United meeting is this Thursday, September 22 at the Linc campus in Salt Rock (6.30pm till 8.30pm). Childcare will be available.
