South Africa celebrates Heritage Day this weekend, it is a time where we flaunt those things that make us different – and even more so those things that make us the same.
While the whole country is culturally diverse – the Dolphin Coast boasts more than its share of fun activities to keep you engaged this Heritage weekend.
Saturday

Join the Heritage Family Fest at Sugar Rush from noon till 5pm and celebrate National Braai Day in true South African style – with good food, good drinks and good friends.
The first Shisa Nyama Awards and Festival will be sizzling at People’s Park just outside Moses Mabhida Stadium from noon till 8pm.
Meanwhile, inside the stadium Shaka Day celebrations will be in full swing with King Goodwill Zwelithini commemorating his 45th anniversary as King.

While enjoying your weekend make sure you swing by the Ballito Lifestyle centre and buy a cupcake for R10 in support of kids with cancer.

What better way to celebrate our heritage than with a glass or two of proudly South African Pinotage at the annual Pinotage on Tap festival at the Litchi Orchard from 12.30 till 7pm.

Sunday
Do your bit to uplift those in need this Heritage weekend by joining the Sunflower Fund 5km fun run/walk for charity at Suncoast Amphitheatre, contact 031 266 1148 for more info.

The weekend ends on a high note with the popular North Coast Courier Orphan Fund bass competition on Sunday at Dudley Pringle dam.
This is a morning of family fun – with fishing action lasting from 5.30am till 11am at R100 per bank angler and R200 per paddle ski angler (no motor or kick boats).
