Serial rapist operating in KwaDukuza

His modus operandi is to approach his victim with an offer of a domestic worker job, saying that he will take them to his boss.

Ten woman have been raped in the past two months by a man believed to be a serial rapist.

The Umhlali police are hunting for a man who has been raping women from Shaka’s Head and other townships across KwaDukuza.

His modus operandi is to approach his victim with an offer of a domestic worker job, saying that he will take them to his boss.

Then on the way to the fictional job, he leads them to a secluded place and rapes them.

According to warrant officer Mandla Ngema last week two cases of rape were reported.

A Shaka’s Head woman was tricked by a job offer and raped in the veld next to the N2 while a Groutville woman was also promised a job and the man suggested that they take a train from Groutville to Tinley Manor last Wednesday. After getting off the train he led her down a pathway through some bushes where he held her at gunpoint and raped her.

“There have been other cases reported in KwaDukuza and all the women have given the same description of the rapist.

“Therefore, we strongly believe that this is done by one person. He operates within the KwaDukuza cluster.

“People should be careful,” said Ngema.
