The jaws of life were used to free a couple from the wreckage.

Two people died in a head-on collision on the N2 Tugela bridge last night at about 7pm.

“A half-ton bakkie and a truck collided,” said IPSS Medical Rescue’s Dylan Meyrick.

“The couple in the bakkie had to be removed by the KwaDukuza fire department using the jaws of life.”
