Rise Up Movement founder, Josha Daniel, recently came third at the recent International Auto Sound Challenge Association (IASCA) South Africa Finals.

He competed in the Hatch 1–3KW class at Durban’s Villa Point Waterfront on September 12–13.

Daniel is a former International Auto Sound Challenge Association (IACSA) judge and an accredited United States Autosound Competition International (USACi) official.

He competed using car audio equipment that is more than 15 years old.

Daniel thanked Ruvi Pillay, Naren Birdju of BD Breaker and Targa SA for their technical support and advice.

His involvement in car audio also forms part of a youth development initiative through The Rise Up Movement.

The initiative aims to introduce young people to the car audio industry and show how subjects such as mathematics and science can be applied to acoustics, electronics, electrical systems and vehicle technology.

The former high school teacher hopes the programme will help young people develop practical skills and explore possible career opportunities.

ACDC Express Ballito has also supported the initiative by assisting with the vehicle’s electrical system as part of its corporate social investment programme.

“This is about more than car audio. It is about showing young people that the interests and hobbies they have can become opportunities to learn, develop skills and build a future,” he said.

Daniel said the aim is to use car audio as a practical platform for learning, mentorship and youth development.
