Ballito hip hop crew snap up all the accolades

Being a hip hop dancer is hard work and requires an incredible amount of practice and dedication to their dance sport.

Filled with snack, crackle and pop, the Sugar Snapz are a dynamic and unbeatable U11 hip hop crew from Sugar Dance in Ballito who have excelled in every competition they have entered this year and won 17 titles.

Comprising six energetic in-the-groove girls from Crawford North Coast and Umhlali School they have won competitions as a crew in the small group division, and also competed as duos and solos.

The titles won include the Most Outstanding Hip Hop Group, Most Outstanding Duo (Kimberly Arthur and Hannah James) and Most Outstanding Junior Hip Hop dancer (Kimberly Arthur) at the Natal Festival of Dance and the Most Outstanding Junior Group at the Durban Dance Youth Awards.

“Being a hip hop dancer is hard work and requires an incredible amount of practice and dedication to their dance sport.

“I am so proud of these girls, they never give anything less than their best and they deserve all these fantastic awards” said coach, Julie Robert.
