Off The Lip Movember Surf Jam returns to Beach Bums
Rip up the surf 70's style and help break the silence on prostate cancer.
Dress up 70’s style, dust off the old retro surfboard and join the movement for men’s health at the Off the Lip Movember Surf Jam in the last weekend of November
Quiksilver is supporting Movember, which in South Africa is licensed by the Men’s Foundation, to create awareness and raise funds for Movember.
Men are facing a health crisis that is taboo to talk about, they are dying before their time. You can help break the silence.
Join the surfers on Saturday November 26.

“I can’t wait to surf the event this year.
“I have been away every year surfing international events but will be here this year to give Jacko a run for his money. I’ve got my twin fin ready,” said an excited De Vries.
Now in its fourth year, Off the Lip is gaining prominence in the surf calendar.
The event will see 72 surfers taking to the water with six-man heats with traditional beach starts in practice.
The three divisions will include open mens, ladies and a legends division (for surfers over the age of 50).

Various fun awards such as “Vert Alert”, “Spin To Win”, “Wave Waster” and “Best Dressed Mo In Character” will also be up for grabs with some great prizes put up by sponsors Quiksilver, Gunslinger, Nixon and Flying Fish.
Various single and twin fin surfboards from the seventies era will be available for surfers to test drive and old school rock ‘n roll surf tunes will be the order of the day.
The action gets underway at 10am with the finals expected to be held at 3pm.
Mo Sista Heather “Fergie” Clark, a Movember ambassador, is super stoked for Off the Lip action.
The surf coach who once ranked 3rd among female surfers in the world, will be dusting off her tie-dyed t-shirt and getting on a retro board to show her support for men’s health.
For this women’s surfing legend, Movember is personal.
“Shortly after my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer my dad went for a routine checkup and was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
“Through their positivity and love for life, I’m proud to say that both my parents are cancer survivors.
“Please guys, speak up, stop putting it off and have your checkups regularly! Do this for yourself and for the people who love and care for you.”
