Fire fighters to the rescue in Ballito

Emergency workers rushed to help put out the blaze at a house in Townsend Road.

A house in Townsend Road, Ballito caught fire earlier this evening and was successfully put out by KwaDukuza Fire and Rescue services before it could do serious damage.

According to IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst the fire started in the roof of the house, near the geyser.

The owners of the house switched off the electricity and attempted to put out the fire with an extinguisher.

“The family thought that the fire had been extinguished but the fire department discovered that the fire was still alive in the roof and successfully put it out,” said Herbst.

No one was injured.
