19-Year-old Blythedale drowning victim found
Three matric girls were taking photos of each other on the shore-break on Thursday when one of them was swept out to sea by a wave.
The body of the matric girl (19) who drowned on Thursday afternoon at Blythedale beach was recovered today.
IPSS Medical Rescue’s Dylan Meyrick said the girl’s body was recovered about 20 kilometers north of Blythedale.
“The body was recovered by SAPS members and the SAPS helicopter,” said Meyrick.
KwaDukuza lifeguard supervisor Bongani Xulu said on Thursday that the girl and two of her friends who are from Mandeni were celebrating the end of exams and taking photos of each other on the shore-break when a wave washed one of the girls into the sea and she disappeared.
