Armed robbers hold up Edgars Tongaat

An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the store's safe and clothing, cellphones and valuables were stolen from the customers and staff.

Five armed men held up staff and customers at Edgars Active in Tongaat this afternoon.

According to witnesses the men walked into the Shoprite complex, held the Edgars Active store up and casually walked out.

IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst said that an undisclosed amount of money was taken from the store’s safe, clothing, cellphones and valuables from the customers and staff were also stolen.

One of the customers was assaulted in the face and has been taken to hospital.
