Make your way to Christ Church North Coast and become part of a family who are continuously captivated by God’s beauty.

The Sunday morning services run from 9am to 10.15am in the air-conditioned auditorium and include supervised crèche facilities and a full kids’ church throughout the service.

A children’s play area, parent’s room and coffee shop are also available.

Pastors

Heading up the church is Michel Adjes (Senior Pastor); Richard Edgcumbe and children’s Pastor Kim Car.

“Anyone who visits our church will see straight away that our first and main focus is on the preaching of the Word of God. We believe that God still speaks today. As His word, the Bible, is opened and explained His voice is heard.”

Umhlali Methodist Church

For significant, trusting friendships and enjoying a safe and open group where questions and doubts are okay, visit the Umhlali Methodist Church.

A worshipping community making disciples of Jesus to change our world, the church was born out of life-changing small groups which remain at the heart of the community.

Share life and learn together what it means to be a disciple of Jesus, discover and be encouraged in exercising your gifts and quickly feel connected to the Umhlali community.

Weekend services

7am – Quiet and reflective, thoughtful and liturgical, a blend of music, ancient and modern.

8.30am – A relaxed, contemporary service, musically led by our worship team, with Sunday School and Youth.

10am – A traditional Methodist service, familiar forms and organ-led hymns.

Youth

The church has a great team of volunteer teachers who work with our children from age 2 up to grade 7 during the 8.30am service.

“Children of all ages are most welcome in all our services but we also have a parents room available with a sound and video link to the service if you’d like to give very busy kids more space to run.”

For more details about our Sunday School, contact the children’s pastor.

Projects and events

The Upper Room

The beautiful view from The Upper Room coffee shop.

The Upper Room was launched on October 27, 2013.

The project is multi-faceted:

  • A non-profit coffee shop – cappuccinos and cake. Profits from the coffee shop are given to community empowerment projects
  • A public face for our Khanyisa project, which aims to give poor communities dignity through education, job-creation and empowerment programmes
  • A Christian bookshop with a focus on spirituality books – prayer, formation, etc.

These will be open on Tuesday to Friday from 7.30am to 1pm on the church property.

Khanyisa

In a very unsettling passage of Scripture, Jesus separates the sheep from the goats on the basis of the way in which they respond to poor and vulnerable people (Matthew 25:31-46).

“We all want to make a difference and to help where we can, but where to start? Often the well-meaning response of the church is charity – collecting money or goods to help the needy.”

Khanyisa (meaning to bring light) aims to equip and empower through creating jobs, mentoring and developing skills in partnership with local communities.

Contact Rev Kym Bishop through the church office for more about Khanyisa or to get on board with something which the church believes is going to give hope and dignity to many in the local community.
