Elderly couple held-up in their Westbrook home

The Wesbrook community has rallied around the couple, providing them with meals to show their support

An elderly couple were held-up at knife and gunpoint in their house at Acacia Road, Westbrook early on Thursday morning.

According to Alpha Security area manager, Rex Hunt, a couple in their 80’s were set upon while still in bed.

Money was demanded and the man recieved a blow to the head.

“They did not get any money but they took a few items and the man was left with a minor injury,” said Hunt.

He said the community had rallied around the couple and had been providing them with meals to show support and comfort them.

The perpetrators are still at large.
