A family visit to the beach this afternoon turned tragic when a 59-year-old man died at Salmon Bay after he went into cardiac arrest.
According to Netcare 911 media liaison Nick Dollman, the man and his family were just about leaving the beach when he collapsed outside their car.
“Reports from the scene indicate that the man had been fishing at the beach with family members.”
“Despite paramedics’ best efforts, the man was declared dead at the beach.”
