One dead in Isithebe explosion
A man was killed in an explosion at a factory in Isithebe

A man in his late forties was killed this morning, reportedly when the metal drum he was grinding exploded at a factory in Isithebe.
According to IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst the man was killed instantly when the drum, believed to have had flammable fumes inside, exploded.
“The drum became a projectile when it exploded,” said Herbst.
The incident occurred in Red Street in Isithebe at around 10am this morning.
No one else was injured and the explosion has been contained.
