N2 northbound closed after horror crash

Two people died and four were injured after a collision on the N2 near the Mandeni Toll

A car burst into flames, killing both backseat passengers, after colliding with a club cab on the N2 this morning just north of the Mandeni Toll.

The man and woman in the front of the car escaped, but their friends in the back were not so lucky.

The driver and the front seat passenger managed to escape the burning car, but the two men in the back were severely entrapped and unable to escape.

The club cab driver and passenger had moderate injuries.

Traffic is being directed onto the R102.
