Don’t miss tonight’s partial lunar eclipse
The next complete lunar eclipse is expected in July 2018
We’ve got good news for all the ‘lunar lovers’ in town – there will be a partial lunar eclipse visible in our South African skies tonight (Monday).
According to the South African Weather Services, it will start at 7.23pm local time and end at 9.18pm, with the maximum eclipse occurring at 8.20pm.
Although quite a bit of cloud cover is expected throughout KZN, you may just catch a glimpse of the phenomenon.
The lunar eclipse will also be visible in a number of other countries surrounding the Indian Ocean, including India, Australia, Saudi Arabia and much of Africa’s eastern coastline.
The likes of China, Indonesia and Malaysia will also be able to view the eclipse.
The next complete lunar eclipse is expected in July 2018.
