Walking for faith

Can you help these three men who are on a mission to bear witness to the love of God?

Success or faith? This was the question that compelled Reinhard Botha to sell all his possessions and leave Pretoria on foot to walk to Cape Town.

Botha is one of three men walking to Cape Town to bear witness for Jesus and who could use a place to spend the night.

“Three months ago I had a good job and all that – but I wanted to do more for Jesus,” said Botha.

Two weeks before he was to set off on his journey, Botha met Zander Marshall, who was so intrigued by his decision to walk from Pretoria to Cape Town that he decided to join them. Upon making it into KZN, the duo met Travis Shiels at Kwasizabantu Mission north of KwaDukuza and the two became three.

The three men arrived on the Dolphin Coast today (Friday) where they were spotted by local Trevor Misthry.

“I was on my way to pick my children up from school when I saw them on the side of the road, I stopped to find out who they were because they were clearly not just passing through by accident,” Misthry told The Courier.

After finding out who they were and what they were doing, Misthry took the three to the Workstation for a spot of lunch.

“People have been so kind and welcoming all throughout our trip,” said Marshall.

“It has been amazing to see God’s love at work, I have no words for how amazing the people have been that we have met.”

If you can provide accommodation for the three men this evening (Friday) or know of someone who could offer lodgings on their trip further south, call 063 102 1111 to speak with Travis Shiels.
