WATCH: International Coastal Clean Up day at Blythedale Beach
In a Facebook live interview with The Courier, honorary officers Liesl Venter and Cheryl Wolhuter speak about the importance of caring for our coastline
School pupils and eager adults showed up bright and early at Blythedale beach on Saturday morning, ready to do their part for International Coastal Clean Up day (September 16).
The event was an Ocean Conservancy initiative, organised by honorary officers from uVemvane, and is held annually along the Blythedale, Zinkwazi and Tinley Manor coastlines.

In a Facebook Live interview with The Courier, honorary officers Liesl Venter and Cheryl Wolhuter spoke about the importance of looking after our coastline and what they aimed to achieve with the initiative.
“In total, I would say that about 180 people have attended today at Blythedale Beach alone.
She said they made it a priority to encourage children to attend because this would hopefully instill a lifelong interest in conservation and the importance of keeping the environment we depend on healthy.
