The RDDA winners are awarded annually to entrants that display a seamless harmony of design excellence, innovation and environmental consciousness

The Ballito Junction Mall walked away with two awards at the country’s shopping centres convention.

The 2017 Retail, Design and Development Award (RDDA) for best new development was awarded to the Ballito Junction at the South African Council of Shopping Centres annual congress in Cape Town last week.

The RDDA winners are awarded annually to entrants that display a seamless harmony of design excellence, innovation and environmental consciousness.

This includes instore design, centre redevelopments, expansions of existing shopping centres and development of new centres.

The Ballito Junction, which opened in March this year, was developed by Flanagan & Gerard and Menlyn Maine Investment Holdings and designed by MDS Architecture and Boogertman KZN.

Exclusive Books in The Ballito Junction was awarded the prize for best retail store design for 2017.
