Toddler hit by truck at Groutville
The two-year-old child died before he could receive medical attention.
While on his way home from creche this afternoon, a two-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being run over by a truck on Thembeni’s Link Road in Groutville.
Police spokesperson Constable Sibusiso Khuzwayo said they are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
It is alleged that the boy was knocked under the truck when a passenger opened his door while the truck was still moving, without knowing the child was in close proximity.
According to IPSS Medical Rescue the child had suffered extensive head injuries and was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
