N2 accident claims one life, injures 5

A victim who was trapped in one of the vehicles died at the scene of the accident.

A high impact collision on the N2 near Tugela this morning (Monday) has left one dead and five injured.

The wreckage resulted in the closure of the northbound lane, with traffic being diverted on to the southbound fast lane.

According to IPSS Medical Rescue paramedics arrived to find one of the victims trapped in the vehicle had already suffered fatal injuries.

The remaining five people suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious and were taken to hospital for further treatment.
