Eureka! The business of great ideas

The session explored how concepts and methodologies, such as systems thinking, among others, can assist in generating new and viable business ideas or ventures.

The Ilembe Chamber of Commerce hosted a fascinating talk on creative ideas in business last week, offered by Dr Shamim Bodhanya, a director at the Leadership Dialogue and chairperson of the Institute on Natural Resources.

The title for the Business Club session was ‘Eureka: New Business Idea Creation.’

Chamber president Sakhile Khumalo said this topic was especially relevant in our modern day economic and business reality, not only in Ilembe or South Africa, but also globally.

The session explored how concepts and methodologies, such as systems thinking, among others, can assist in generating new and viable business ideas or ventures.

Dr Bodhanya, who holds a degree in engineering, an MBA and a PhD, is an author and keynote speaker who draws from inter-disciplinary research to work with complex, real-world problems, whether within companies, government institutions or any other.
